Do I need to install flooring under my kitchen units?
We do not think that is necessary. After all, no one is going to be looking underneath them, least of all you. There are other good reasons why your kitchen flooring can simply be fitted up to the edges of kitchen units and appliances. First, you save yourself some money which would have only ended up hiding under the oven or in some other obscure place. Heavy kitchen equipment would put immense pressure on the flooring causing dents and eventual breakage. If you ever need to replace your floor, it would be easier to simply uninstall the old floor without having to move heavy kitchen units around. Finally, by laying your floor last, you wouldn’t have to endure the scrapes and scratches that could result from workmen dragging a cooker across your new floor.
