Can my old carpet be used as an underlay for my new flooring?

Our flooring experts at GJP Flooring do not recommend using your old carpets as underlay for any new flooring. The structural makeup of carpets allow too much give and as such are highly unsuitable for laying laminate, wood, or luxury vinyl over.
